Mount Merapi Museum

Mount Merapi Museum is located in Yogyakarta, precisely located on Jalan Kaliurang km 22. Mount Merapi Museum was built in 2005, was inaugurated on October 1, 2009, and opened to the public on January 1, 2010.

This museum was made to tell about existing volcanoes, especially Merapi. You can observe various types of volcanoes and their eruptions in the world through the museum panels. Apart from that, you can see artifacts from the 2006 Merapi eruption in the form of motorbike wrecks, household appliances, as well as photos of the 2010 eruption, which complement the photos of various volcanic eruptions in Chile, Italy, Hawaii, USA, and so on.
